Memory Lane
Designing this website became a long and winding hike down Memory Lane, with a lot of detours into self-reflection. I have done lots of different creative things, which you may have noticed if you visited all the pages on the website (Good for you!). And what is displayed on this site is really just the tip of the iceberg. There is no visual record of much of my earlier artwork, since digital technology didn't exist for the first 20+ years of my artistic career. Yes, I am a woman of 'a certain age', but luckily with age comes wisdom, so I'm really smart now.
I only started writing fiction in 2005, and instantly fell in love with it. Since then, I've tried to maintain a balance between the writing and the visual art. It hasn't been easy, but by including illustrations in some of my books, and more recently, creating illustrated children's books, I've managed to unite the two.
A very new endeavour for me is to include very short stories, poems or messages in my collages, with text. It is still in the experimental phase, which is the most fun stage of creating, and I feel it has a lot of potential. Time will tell! I will post all new collages on this website, so stay tuned.
